Karma Bytes is a consumer and micro-business computer repair and technology support service operated by InfraZen Ltd, The Collingwood Buildings, 38 Collingwood Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 1JF, UK.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services we provide, as well as your use of our website.
By booking an appointment, using our services or accessing our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services We Provide
Karma Bytes offers:

Computer repairs and diagnostics

Data recovery (best-effort, no guarantee of success)

Device refurbishment and upgrades

Advice and setup assistance

Secure data transfer services
These services are delivered on a time-and-materials or fixed-fee basis, depending on the job.
3. Booking and Appointments
Appointments must be made in advance.
You are responsible for providing accurate information about your device and the issues you are experiencing.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us as soon as possible. Missed appointments may incur a reasonable fee.
4. Workmanship Guarantee
All workmanship is covered by a 30-day guarantee from the date the device is returned to you.
This guarantee covers the quality of the repair work carried out. It does not cover:

Subsequent faults unrelated to the repair

Damage caused by user error, liquid, impact or misuse

Software issues arising after a repair unless directly linked to our work

Consumable parts or batteries unless otherwise stated
If the same fault returns within 30 days, we will re-diagnose and attempt a remedy at no labour charge.
5. Customer Data and Backups
Customers are advised to back up their data before handing over a device.
If you request us to create a backup, we will store it on an encrypted external SSD.
Retention rules:

Backups are deleted as soon as you confirm you no longer need them

If not confirmed, they may be retained for up to 1–2 years

Temporary working copies are removed immediately after the job is completed
We accept no liability for data loss except where caused by proven negligence.
6. Data Recovery Work
Data recovery is a best-effort service.
We do not guarantee:

That data can be recovered
-
That all data can be recovered
-
That recovered data will be error-free
You pay for the recovery attempt, not the outcome, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. Parts, Components and Refurbished Devices
Where new or refurbished parts are supplied, any manufacturer or supplier warranty will apply.
Refurbished devices sold by Karma Bytes may carry a limited warranty, which will be stated at the time of sale.
8. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Invoices may be issued through our partner platforms (e.g. Xero or RO).
Payment methods accepted will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Devices may be withheld until payment is received in full.
9. Liability
Karma Bytes will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing services.
We are not liable for:

Pre-existing faults or damage

Loss of data not directly caused by our negligence

Consequential losses, such as loss of business, revenue or opportunity

Incompatibility issues arising after system updates or third-party changes
-
Damage caused by customer-installed software or malware
Our total liability is limited to the value of the services provided, except where limited otherwise by UK law.
10. Your Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK law.
You have the right to expect services to be performed with reasonable care and skill and to receive remedies if they are not.
11. Use of Our Website

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a service where:

The job is deemed economically or technically unviable
Any fees for work already completed will remain payable.
